It’s that time of year again! Each year St. Stephen’s teams up with the Salvation Army to help families in our community who struggle during the holidays. Coming up are two different opportunities to be involved—one right now and one a little later:
Intake for Christmas Food and Toys for Tots
During the last two weeks of October, the Salvation Army will be receiving applications from families who need help. St. Stephen’s provides intake workers to update client applications. The work is not difficult and makes a big difference. Consider signing up for one or more two-hour shifts, Volunteer sign-up sheets are available now in the Great Hall—or you can click “Salvation Army Outreach” on the contact page to volunteer.
Adopt a Family
This year St. Stephen’s will again adopt several families who will be selected by the Salvation Army to receive Christmas gifts and a dinner directly from us. A small Christmas tree will be placed in the Great Hall with angel tags indicating gift requests. Specific plans will be shared in November when our families are assigned.
