Breaking news! We now have until March to finish our scarves and hats. So if you were worried about not having enough time . . . now you do!
For the past few years, the knitters in our congregation have made scarves and hats as part of the Seamen’s Church Institute Christmas at Sea program. This mission program provides gifts for men and women serving in North American and international maritime workplaces–many on our major rivers. (Click here to learn more about this wonderful program.)
Last year we did not have enough items complete to send a package. Joan Bonner would like to try again this year. The recommended patterns are very simple, mostly garter stitch. Joan will have the patterns available in the Great Hall and can also provide yarn if necessary.
Patterns are also available on the SCI website—see link above)
